Swimsuit shopping is the worst! That’s probably why this is the most frequently requested blog post from my Facebook group. It’s also why it’s taken me so long to write it lol. Swimwear is definitely outside of my comfort zone. I’m a mom who generally wears a size large/ 12 so I’m not exactly what most people think of when they think of a “beach body.” But I’ve learned that THIS is the body God gave me and I’m not going to miss out on opportunities to have fun with my kids because I’m insecure about how I look.
Enter these swimsuits from Amazon. Yes- you CAN find figure flattering swimsuits on Amazon! Pre-kids I only wore 2 piece bathing suits. I’ve learned to embrace the “mono-kini” look post babies though and there are some really flattering ones on Amazon! Buying a swimsuit doesn’t have to be torture and it doesn’t have to break the bank. Each of these suits are figure flattering and so easy to wear. Trust me- if I can rock them so can you!
Tempt Me Mesh Swimsuit
This is often called “The Amazon Suit.” It really does live up to the hype. I actually own 2 versions of it from different vendors and love them equally. It holds everything in nicely and creates a great silhouette. This was the first bathing suit I actually felt good about myself in after my second child was born. It’s also a great one if you have active little kids and want to be in the pool with them because I don’t have trouble with wardrobe malfunctions if they are hanging all over me and pulling on me. I find it to fit TTS.
Tan line score: 4/5 the mesh panel can catch you off guard- make sure to apply sunscreen there.
Hilor Criss Cross Bathing Suit
The thing I love about this suit is it gives you the look of a two piece while still providing the coverage of a one piece. I was worried it wouldn’t be flattering around my midsection but I actually found it to be super slimming. It comes in so many colors but I just love this aqua. One thing to note is that the straps do have a tendency to roll a bit (see pic).
Tan line score: 3/5 You WILL tan through the stripes both at the top and midsection. If you have an event where you need to wear a strapless dress I would keep this one out of rotation that week.
Hilor One Shoulder Swimsuit
This pretty pink suit was a pleasant surprise! I wasn’t sure about the one shoulder but I love it. The ruching is flattering and everything stays put pretty well. The color is a lot brighter (in a good way!) than it looked in the stock photo. You can tell I had some trouble capturing it. It’s really so striking! Fits TTS (I tried to size up and had to return that one because it was too big).
Tan line score: 4/5 pretty much exactly what you would expect. I only took 1 star off since you end up with an asymmetrical tan.
A-Love Twist Cross One Piece
This is a great swimsuit for women who have mom-tummy insecurities. It not only helps to hold it in but I feel the criss cross top draws the eyes up. It’s a great postpartum suit.
Tan Line Score: 5/5 very even tan lines and exactly what you would expect looking at it.
Tempt Me Two Piece Flounce Bikini
This was the only bikini I included but it really is flattering! The highwaisted bottoms hold everything in and cover up c-section scars, stretch marks etc. The flounce style top is also great for people who might be a little insecure about their arms because it provides a bit of extra coverage. For me this is more of a laying out suit than a rough housing with the kids in the pool suit because the top isn’t super supportive.
Tan line score: 3/5- the off the shoulder top definitely leaves weird tan lines. You can remedy this by slipping them off the arms while laying out.
Firpearl One Piece
I just love the metal stud detailing on the straps of this suit! It’s such a nice touch. The tummy control is also a nice feature. This one is also very nursing friendly- that’s actually why I originally ordered it. The trade off though is as the baby grows it’s also easy for them to pull it down so be mindful of wardrobe malfunction if you have a stage 5 pool clinger lol.
Tan line score: 5/5 nothing to complain about and exactly what you would expect looking at it.
These pom-pom swim cover ups are my FAVORITE! I have worn them to the beach, the pool, on vacay- you name it! They machine wash well and are lightweight so very easy to pack. I have 2 from different vendors and find them to be identical.

A word on the hat…
I did want to take a sec to highlight this super cute 28 Palms Visor. I love that it rolls up for packing and that I can wear it with a ponytail or mom bun (unlike my sun hats). And I just LOVE the little bow in the back- so cute! This is a must have if you need something easy to pack a bring along.
I hope this helps make swimsuit shopping more enjoyable. Let me know in the comments which suit is your favorite of the bunch!
