Specs and First Impressions
I tried out the GreenPan Prime Midnight Hard Anodized Cookware and I have to say they are really nice. GreenPan products feature Thermolon healthy ceramic nonstick coating that is free of PFAS, PFOA, lead, and cadmium, so it will never release toxic fumes, even if it’s accidentally overheated. This is a good thing for me since I chronically overheat my pans. They claim to be super durable to the point of being metal utensil safe. I can’t say for sure yet how durable they are but they definitely seem sturdy.
The pans are oven and broiler safe up to 600°F. They claim to be dishwasher safe but then the instructions in the box said for best results to hand wash them so make of that what you will. They are suitable for all stovetops except induction. As far as the non-stick coating goes I was very pleased with the results. Eggs slid off with ease which is always my go-to test for pans. I tried out the 5 piece set but there is also a larger 11 piece set. I think the 5 piece set would be great for college students or recent grads moving into their first apartment. The larger set is best for families. If you use lids on your cookware frequently you’ll definitely want the 11 piece set since the 5 piece did not come with lids.
Individual Pieces
There are also single frying pans and single pots available if you need to just replace a piece or 2. I thought this was nice since sometimes you don’t need a whole set.
Overall, I think they are a solid choice for pots and pans. They would make great grad and wedding gifts as well.
