I’ve meant to post this for awhile now but I’m finally getting to the blog backlog. If you’ve been here awhile you know we bought a fixer upper and have had a litany of home projects- 2023 was the replacement of the Septic tank, interior painting, and then replacing the well and water softener. In 2024 we embarked on the biggest project to date which was removing the rotting siding and replacing it with Hardy Board. This led to a series of unexpected costs including the fact we had no walls behind the siding on the upper level of the house:
We also had back to back hurricanes in fall which made for some seriously stressful days.
Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige Exterior Paint
Before construction our house was a battleship gray color (pic below) which I hated because it clashed with the brown roof. Our roof is relatively new so changing the color wasn’t an option so I needed something that would go with it. If I had my way we would have done a white house with black trim but that wouldn’t go with the brown roof plus we have 70s stone panels that would clash. I decided on Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige because it would go well with the current brown roof and rocks and would still look nice if I changed the color of the roof later down the road. I really couldn’t find many photos of the color on the outside of houses so I made a mental note to make a blog post so people could see it on the exterior of homes if they were considering it.

Exterior Paint Accessible Beige Palette
For our house I went the following door palette:
- Siding and Stucco: Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige
- Trim: Sherwin Williams Pure White
- French Doors: Sherwin Williams Upward
I know the door color is a little unusual but the doors were a light blue when we moved in and I actually really like the way they looked. I went with Upward since it coordinates well with accessible beige while still being a lighter blue color like I wanted.

When I was looking for examples of the paint online I had a really hard time finding exterior photos of Accessible Beige so I promised myself I would post a bunch to help the next person. So I tried to get a bunch of shots in different lighting and angles to give a good sense of the how the color looks on the outside of a house.

I really love the way colors turned out! I went back and forth a bunch but ultimately I’m really happy with what I chose. Sherwin Williams Accessible Beige looks great with Pure White without pulling too yellow and it’s a great combo. If you want a nice neutral color that goes with basically everything this is a great option. We’ve gotten so many compliments from neighbors about how great it looks!
