Living in Florida we don’t have many days we need to run the heat. And often we really only need to at night. Space heaters have been a great way for us to save on our energy bill because we can run them at night and only heat the room we are sleeping in rather than paying to heat the whole house. Picking a space heater can be a bit overwhelming but De’Longhi has made it easy. You may be familiar with their coffee makers but did you know they also make other appliances? In fact, they’ve been making space heaters for over 50 years and they sent me two to compare for you guys to help you select the one that is right for you.

Compact Capsule

The De’longhi HFX30C15.G Capsule Ceramic Heater is small but mighty! It’s unobtrusive and super portable and ideal for families. Safety features include an automatic tip-over “off” switch and thermal shut off that prevents overheating so you can sleep soundly knowing your heater is safe.  This compact heater warms up in seconds to deliver instant, focused heat, while providing full room circulation. It also has a fan only option for the summer to cool the room down. I love appliances that do double duty. It’s surprisingly tiny for how well it heats and is super easy to store.

Full Room Radiant Heater

The De’Longhi TRD40615E Full Room Radiant Heaters also equipped with safety features and has a thermal shutoff to prevent overheating. It’s best for Rooms up to 144 sq feet that need constant heat in the colder seasons. It is maintenance free with high-quality steel assembly and a permanently-sealed oil reservoir never needs refilling. If you need to keep an entire room warm, prevent pipes bursting etc this is the heater you’ll want to go with. I like that the ECO function automatically adjusts heat and power settings to be both comfortable and economical. Something that’s not mentioned that I think they should is that it comes FULLY ASSEMBLED. I hate putting stuff together so this is a BIG selling point for me! The wheels are also a nice bonus so you can move it around with ease.

So Which is Right For You?

It really depends on what your needs are. If you have a small home where space is an issue or you want to be able to carry it from room to room or bring it into the office I would go with the compact model. If you are looking to keep an entire room warm and do so in the most energy efficient way the radiant heater is for you. For me, if I HAD to pick I think the compact heater meets our needs best here in Florida because it’s easy to store when the weather is hot. If we lived in the midwest in a larger home I think we would prefer the larger radiant heater.
