The highlight of my month was heading down to Miami for a Blogger’s Retreat work trip at the beginning of May. I had the absolute best time brainstorming ideas, shooting content, and eating ALL the yummy food. Even though I went with work on my mind, I think we mapped out a pretty awesome itinerary for a girls weekend in Miami. So here are all the details of where I stayed, what I ate, and most importantly what I wore. Bienvenido a Miami.
What We Did and Where We Ate
Day 1
Since I’m already based in Florida I drove down to Miami but everyone else flew in. We checked into our hotel the Fountainbleu on Miami Beach and it was incredible. I 1000% recommend staying there! The Art Deco vibes were mixed in nicely with updated modern touches.
We dropped our stuff in our rooms and headed down to the pool. The hotel is right on the beach and there are multiple pools to choose from including a main pool, adult pool, kids pool, 2 hot tubs along with a few smaller pools.

There are waiters and the bar is open with a full food menu. Fair warning the drink prices are extremely high. I would consider having a drink in your room before or after the pool so you don’t need to order as many there. Food was pretty average for poolside service – around $20-$25 per entree. We hung out by the pool sipping drinks and meeting everyone and also hopped in the hot tub during a quick rainstorm. Then we headed back up to the rooms to get ready for dinner. Dinner was at Juvia and you definitely go there for the stunning rooftop views. It was truly spectacular.
I recommend the grilled salmon- it was excellent.
We finished out the night with drinks back at the hotel bar which was super crowded because of the Formula 1 races. There was also a HUGE concert down at the pool. I didn’t have tickets but we were able to watch from our balcony and it was quite the event.
Day 2
I grabbed coffee and an egg sandwich (amazing!) from the cafe Chez Bon Bon downstairs and brought it up to our room. I ate breakfast on the balcony and watched the sunrise.
After doing some work I was able to head down to the pool. We rented a cabana which was nice to have but definitely not a necessity. We had lunch at the pool then headed up to get ready for a photoshoot with Amanda Janca. We got so many amazing shots but this one is my favorite:

We had dinner at Amara at Paraiso. The steak was awesome and stone crabs were in season so we did those along with the large seafood platter.
We finished the night at a dive bar called The Tipsy Flamingo which was basically like going back in time 20 years. It was a blast though.
Day 3
I had my coffee and breakfast from Chez Bon Bon on my balcony again and then we went for a walk on the beach to get some exercise.
I worked the rest of the morning poolside and had lunch there again. For dinner that night we went to Baoli and the sushi was awesome. From there we went to a Speakeasy which had awesome themeing but below average drinks.
Day 4
I had breakfast on the balcony again and had to head out early so I could make the drive home in time to get the kids off the school bus.
What I Wore
Here are a few outfit highlights from the trip. These were some of my favorite pieces. I think there’s a good mix of high and low items and many are available on Amazon.
Pretty Amazon Shift Dress
I wore this dress for the drive down and check in and it’s SO comfortable. TTS in a large.

One Shoulder Swimsuit
This is the swimsuit I wore the first day and the one I received the most compliments on from strangers. I also have it in pink. It’s seriously the most flattering suit. I size up one to a 14 in this. You can see all of my favorite swimsuits in this post.

Tropical Hibiscus Dress
I wore this dress to dinner the first night and I have to say I like it a lot better than I thought I would! The back is SO cute. TTS in a large. The Dolce Vita heels fit TTS and are SO comfortable- definitely worth the splurge.

Macrame Back Swimsuit
This macrame back swimsuit is one of my favorites and I love how this shot shows off how cute the back is. Bonus: the pads are sewn in so no searching for them in the laundry!

Beach Bag
I LOVE my large Bogg Bag but I thought it might be overkill on a solo trip sans kids. It seemed like the perfect excuse to buy a Baby Bogg. I just love it.

Cut Out Top with Free People Shorts
I loved this cut out top because it’s trendy while still feeling mom appropriate. The shorts are the super popular Free People Makai cut offs- recommend sizing up one. I’m wearing a 31 but would have preferred a 32.

Ruffle Wrap Dress
I loved this dress and thought it was super cute for dinner. It fits TTS in a large but it is a bit low-cut. I might add a snap to the bust. The shoes are so pretty and also fit TTS.

One Shoulder Bodycon Dress
This was my favorite dress I wore from the trip! It’s super budget friendly but looks expensive. It fits TTS and hugs my curves in all the right places. I saw these Nina shoes and HAD to have them. They are stunning but not very comfortable; I’m going to add heels cushions.

- Shoes: https://bit.ly/3QijC0P
I had to take a close up of the shoes because I just love the color.
And there you have it! Everything I ate and wore in Miami lol. Which outfit was your favorite?

It was set up for an event at the Fountainebleu so unfortunately it’s not a permanent thing
