Shorts shopping for many women is second only to bathing suit shopping on their list of things they hate. I get it. I really do. Especially after having kids finding the right fit can be a real challenge. I’ve heard so many women say they simply don’t wear them anymore and suffer through the heat in jeans.

I firmly believe that you can not only find shorts that fit but that you’ll also feel good in- even if you are curvy! There’s no reason to sweat through the summer in pants if you don’t want to. I’ve rounded up some of my favorites in a variety of styles and price points so there’s sure to be something for everyone. For size reference I am 5’4” and a size 10/12/large. I take the guesswork out of finding the perfect pair of shorts!

Time and True Denim Shorts

These denim Time and True shorts from Walmart are my current top pick for budget friendly denim shorts. The fit is excellent and they are under $15! They have a 4 inch inseam and the rolled hem is sewn in place. I’m wearing them true to size.

Walmart Time and True Linen Blend Shorts

I love linen shorts in the summer and these Walmart ones are super budget friendly. I have all the colors including this fun floral they released this year. They fit TTS. I’m wearing a medium.

Favorite Soft Pull On Shorts

Clearly I like these shorts A LOT lol. I bought them again this year in every color and at under $13 they are a steal. They are the most comfy shorts and I wear them on repeat all summer. I find they run big; definitely size down if between sizes. These are a medium.

Silver Jeans Co Denim Shorts

I absolutely love these Silver Jeans Co shorts! The distressing is just the right amount and the fit is perfect. I find them to fit true to size. If you want to splurge on a really nice pair of shorts this is my pick! I’ve actually bought them twice when I lost weight and needed a smaller size; they are THAT good.

Levi’s Denim Shorts

These are extremely budget friendly and I love the fit. I also like that the rolled hem is sewn in place so you don’t have to fuss with it. The fit for me was true to size. They come in a few different washes and are all in the link below.

Liverpool White Denim Shorts

I love Liverpool jeans and they also make great denim shorts! This white pair is one of my favorites and I have purchased them twice in different sizes (losing and gaining weight). The fit is TTS.

Walmart Denim Shorts

These Sofia Vergara shorts are a great pick for affordable denim shorts with a fantastic fit. These are great on my curvy body but I’ve also seen them on more slender girls and they look amazing on them as well. I like the way they fit true to size but I’ve heard some girls say they size down. I bought them in 4 colors intending to return 2 and ended up keeping them all; they’re that good! They come in both distressed and non- distressed options.

Pull On Shorts

These pull-on shorts are an Amazon find and so flattering and comfortable! I’m wearing a large and feel they fit TTS. I do feel they get softer after washing. I own 4 pairs and will probably buy more! The drawstring makes these idea for women who are uncomfortable wearing shorts and I like that they have the feel of lounge shorts but are elevated enough to wear out fo the house.
